Heat 4

Weatherwise, it was windy and overcast all day, and most skippers started with their A rigs.
Just prior to lunch the wind picked up briefly, and after the break it dropped out once more.
Those skippers who started with their B rigs changed up over lunch and were more competitive for the last few races.

In a close result, our congratulations go to Tim Arland who really relished today's conditions.

Alan Gold came in a close second after starting today with his B rig.

Many thanks to Ecio Marcel (PRO) and Ian Dowsett (Assistant PRO/Scorer) for their efforts today, and to Trevor Jeffree, who toiled away at home processing the raw data.

Watch out SARYC, the DF65s are coming. A warm spring day with fluctuating light to moderate northerly winds saw nine DF65s, including guest Leigh Richardson, face the starter for the first round of their 2019 Spring Trophy event. At the front of the fleet a battle soon developed between Jeff, Johan and Tony with Jeff eventually showing he is not only the master in DF95s but also DF65s. In the middle of the fleet another battle was brewing between Mark, Bob and Jurgen with John keeping them honest. Mark prevailed in this battle with a small margin. Leigh was a late starter and took a while to get to grips with his boat setup. Hang in there Leigh. Chris had the worst misfortune of the day with a split in his hull causing his electrics to become drowned. Bad luck Chris. Many thanks to Johan's partner Angela for recording the results of the first eight races. For a first timer she did an outstanding job. Also thanks to the ever reliable Jeff Watson who took over for the last four races and also put on the RO cap. Thanks to everyone for a great day out.  Report by Jurgen.
